How soon do I need to book my order?

I book cakes anywhere from 1-6 weeks in advance, depending on the season. As soon as you know what you’d like, I recommend getting your order in! I don’t have a set cutoff date for items but instead take orders until the time slot is booked for that specific date. I will take orders with less notice if I am able to, but I suggest placing large orders at least 1-2 months in advance to avoid disappointment.

Question 2

Is my order date secured when I place the order?

Your order is not secured until the deposit is paid. Any order that is over $100 requires a $100 deposit to hold the date. The remaining balance is due 7 days prior to the event. Any order under $100 must be paid in full to secure the date.

Question 3

Can I cancel an order once the deposit is paid, or if the order is paid in full?

No order may be canceled for any reason within 1 week of pick up. Please be sure that you definitely want to place an order before finalizing. This is a small bakery and I plan my baking production, ordering and time usage based on orders. Once your date is held, all business is turned away for your spot. Since I take a limited number of orders per week, dates sell out very quickly. Cancellation will result in forfeiture of initial deposit, and any prepayments.

Can I reschedule my order for another date?

If Ashlee’s Cakes has availability on the preferred date, the order may be transferred to the new date.

Can I get a refund on my cake order?

I take great pride in the work I do and work hard to create designs inspired by invitations and photos provided. The more detail you provide the more exact your order will be. If you are wanting exact colors, I request swatches or original copies of invitations. When you pick up your cake, you have the opportunity to look over your order and make sure everything is as desired, including name spellings. The person picking up will be responsible for signing & accepting that the complete order is being picked up, all details are correct & that they are responsible for the order & any damages once they leave. If any changes are required, they must be requested at the time of pick up so that we can discuss and make any needed corrections or changes. Once the order is signed for, I cannot make additional changes. If you are dissatisfied with the quality/taste of your order, you may return 75% of the cake within 24 hours of order pick up and receive a full refund.

Can you match a cake photo exactly?

It is super helpful for me to see inspiration photos for the design you are looking for & create something similar. Each cake is an edible art piece, and no two cakes will ever be completely identical. If you have an exact color you would like me to match, it is always best to provide an in-person physical color swatch. I will do my best to match colors, but they sometimes vary from screen to screen.

Question 7

How do I transport my cake properly?

Cakes need to travel on a flat surface in your vehicle. They should be taken to their destination immediately. Please keep your air conditioning turned on high even on milder days. Orders should never be left in a vehicle (hot car) or in direct sunlight. Your cake is a fragile, edible piece of art and should be treated with care. Orders do not require refrigeration unless you are instructed to do so at the time of pickup.
